Holistic protection services for vulnerable refugees (Echo, WHH - Welt Hunger Hilfe)

Between October 2018 and August 2020 Welt Hunger Hilfe (WHH), Human Source Development Foundation (IKGV) and Refugee Support Center (Freeze) “Ankara, Ağrı, Bilecik, Eskişehir, İstanbul, Kütahya and Van compound for refugees and coordinated protection support ”project to ensure access to refugees to appropriate social services; It is aimed to provide those who do not have access to legal, socio-economic, health-related and psycho-social support and consultancy services. A total of 1261 people benefited from the project. Although Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Migration Administration has stopped receiving registration outside the exceptions as of February 2018; Our Association has managed to provide a temporary protection identity for 138 people. Considering the importance of identity in access to rights, a considerable success has been achieved. Within the scope of the project, health screenings were carried out for refugees in Şişli; A total of 82 refugees were reached. In addition, information meetings were held for refugees and 84 refugees participated in these meetings in Çatalca. Again, in cooperation with Çatalca District Governorate, the National and International Human Rights Legislation Training on refugees was given to public employees; The situation in our country, the responsibilities of the public administration, the problems and solutions in our country related to migration and immigrants are presented with a right -based perspective. A total of 412 public officials participated in the related trainings. Access to health right has been one of the most prominent services. In this context, a total of 547 guidance was made to public hospitals and private health institutions to which the association is contracted. Again, as a pioneer activity in the field, 37 pregnant women without identity provide pregnancy, birth and postpartum support service. In the same direction, on March 6, 2020, with the participation of more than fifty representatives from public institutions, municipalities and non -governmental organizations that provide services to refugees in the field of health, the interreligious Strategic Cooperation Workshop ında was organized in supporting the access of immigrants to the right to health. During the project, special attention was given to children. In addition to complementary survey activities, a children's festival (creative workshops and developing games) was organized with the participation of 140 children and their families with the support of Şişli Municipality. The project, which was financed by the EU Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), was evaluated through monitoring reports; The findings obtained were shared with the relevant institutions and organizations. LGBTI+ and women's solidarity groups organized within the scope of the project were also the manifestation of the understanding of society -based protection.
